Bill knows strong communities are built not just with education and jobs, but also with the places that bring people together, and he's brought back billion of dollars to improve them. He:

  • Helped create the Syracuse Joint Schools Construction Board and secured nearly $1 billion for Syracuse school renovations 
  • Brought home grants to refurbish and preserve the CNY Regional Market, Landmark Theatre, Museum of Science and Technology, and Onondaga Historical Association 
  • Delivered funding to clean up Skaneateles Lake, fighting algae blooms that threatened our drinking water 
  • Secured over $450 million for a new emergency department and surgery center at SUNY Upstate Medical Center,  improving access to health care and creating hundreds of jobs.

  • Strengthened gun safety laws and sponsored the Red Flag  Law to keep guns out of the wrong hands
  • Supported the Climate & Community Protection Act to make NYS a leader on combating climate change and limiting greenhouse gas emmissions

Pass New York for All, to limit local police cooperation with ICE and ensure the New York State Enhanced Services to Refugees Program (NYSESRP) is funded at the state level to make up for federal cuts.
